Scott Giles PT, DPT, MBA
Dr. Giles is the founder and President of Scorebuilders. Dr. Giles has authored numerous best selling review books and has presented on licensure preparation throughout the United States and Internationally for over 19 years. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Springfield College and his Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from Simmons College. Dr. Giles received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. Dr. Giles served as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of New England for 15 years. He has disseminated research related to the licensing examination at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting, American Physical Therapy Association’s Annual Conference and Exposition, and the American Association of Higher Education, Conference on Assessment Quality. He is the former Chair of the New England Consortium of Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education and a Credentialed Trainer for the APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program. He served on the APTA Committee charged with revising the Physical Therapist Clinical Performance Instrument (PT CPI): Version 2006.

Therese “Traci” Giles PT, MS
Mrs. Giles received her Masters in Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Health Science from Springfield College. She is the owner and Vice President of Scorebuilders, a company offering licensing examination resources for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Mrs. Giles has served as a contributor to numerous best selling review books including PTEXAM: The Complete Study Guide and PTAEXAM: The Complete Study Guide. Mrs. Giles has been a physical therapist for 19 years and has focused her clinical practice on patients with neuromuscular disorders. She is Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Certified and has experience as an administrator and a team clinical leader in a rehabilitation hospital.

Heidi Dunfee, PT, DScPT
Dr. Heidi Dunfee is the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education with the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She received her DScPT degree from University of Maryland. Dr. Dunfee has been a physical therapist for 24 years and has been a clinical education coordinator on an acute rehabilitation unit for over 18 years having worked with over 650 students on their clinical experiences. She is presently the Secretary for the Education Section of the APTA. She is a Trainer for the Basic and Advanced APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program and a member of the APTA Clinical Instructor Education Board. Dr. Dunfee is an adjunct faculty member with the Mayo School of Health Sciences Physical Therapy Program and a volunteer faculty with the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Anita Santasier PT, PhD, OCS
Dr. Santasier is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Stony Brook University in New York where she teaches in the musculoskeletal and research tracks. She received her Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Delaware, her Masters degree in Allied Health Administration from Hunter College and her PhD in Physical Therapy from Temple University. Dr. Santasier has over 27 years of clinical experience and is an APTA Certified Orthopedist Specialist. She has presented both locally and nationally, as well as published on issues of education, diversity and qualitative research.

Reva Rauk PT, PhD, MMSc, NCS
Dr. Reva Rauk is the Director of Clinical Education at the University of Utah, Department of Physical Therapy. She received her PhD degree from University of Minnesota and has been a board certified neurologic clinical specialist since 1993. Dr. Rauk has been a physical therapist for 26 years and has served in some aspect of student clinical education for over 20 years, serving in CI, ACCE, CCCE and DCE roles. She is presently the Clinical Co-Chair of the Clinical Education Special Interest Group for the Education Section of the APTA. She is a Trainer for both the Basic and Advanced APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Programs and a member of the APTA Clinical Instructor Education Board.

Kathy Cieslak PT, DScPT, OCS
Dr. Cieslak is a staff physical therapist in the outpatient department at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her Masters in Physical Therapy at the Mayo School of Health Sciences, Rochester, Minnesota and received her DScPT degree from the University of Maryland. She is an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor and has served as a clinical instructor for numerous students in the outpatient setting. She is an adjunct faculty member with the Mayo School of Health Sciences Physical Therapy Program, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Her clinical practice includes working with a variety of clients with orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. She is an APTA Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.

Danielle Allain, PT, BS, CLT-LANA
Ms. Allain received her BS in Physical Therapy in 1996 from the University of New England. As a staff therapist, in supervisory capacities, and as a credentialed clinical instructor, she has gained experience in hospital based outpatient departments, and multiple inpatient levels of care. During her years in outpatient settings, Ms. Allain enjoyed opportunities allowing her to pursue focused practice and program development in the areas of Women’s Health and Wound Care. She has served as a clinical investigator in a pilot study evaluating best practice interventions for the evolving diagnosis of post-breast surgery syndrome and for Johnson & Johnson in FDA trials of a powered mobility device. In 2007 Ms. Allain became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and has since worked in a specialized outpatient clinic treating lymphedema and related conditions. In 2009 she successfully completed the requirements to be further credentialed in this specialty by the Lymphology Association of North America.

Ryan Brown MPT
Mr. Brown received his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of New England. Prior to attending the University of New England, he completed his Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Notre Dame College. Currently, he is the Director of Physical Therapy Services for Saco Bay Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy in Kennebunk, Maine. Mr. Brown is enrolled in a two-year residency program at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. The program focuses on advanced orthopaedic manual/manipulative physical therapy skills for management of spine and extremity disorders.

Ryan Buchele PT, DScPT, ATC Mr. Buchele is currently the manager of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at the Waseca Medical Center-Mayo Health System, Waseca, Minnesota. He has provided care to a diverse patient population over the past 12 years including outpatient orthopedics and subacute inpatient rehabilitation. After receiving his Bachelors of Science majoring in Athletic Training at South Dakota State University, Ryan completed his Masters in Physical Therapy at the Mayo School of Health Sciences, Rochester, Minnesota. He is an APTA trained Clinical Instructor and recently completed his Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland-Baltimore

Matthew Douglas PT, MS
Mr. Douglas received his Masters in Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Health Science from Springfield College. He has 16 years of outpatient orthopedic experience with an emphasis on sports medicine. Mr. Douglas has experience as an administrator in several outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinics. Mr. Douglas currently is employed as the Director of Riverview Physical Therapy in Yarmouth, Maine.

Paula Hould PT, MEd
Ms. Hould is the former Department Chair/Program Director for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Hesser College in Manchester, NH. She received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University and her Masters of Education from Cambridge College. Ms. Hould had been a member of the Hesser College PTA Faculty for over 11 years and in that time taught human kinesiology, therapeutic exercise, and applied neurology. She also served as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education as well as Associate Director. She is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and served as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education for two years at an outpatient physical therapy practice. Ms. Hould has served as an item writer for the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) and for Scorebuilders’ Online Advantage.

Sonya L. Irons, PT, MPT, CCS
Ms. Irons is a full-time staff physical therapist at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Besides working in a rehabilitation setting, Mrs. Irons also works in acute and I.C.U. care by providing daily contract coverage at Nebraska Heart Hospital. Mrs. Irons completed her Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University and her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Mayo School of Health Sciences. Ms. Irons has her ABPTS Board Certification in cardiopulmonary physical therapy (CCS). She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Ms. Irons is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor, and has been a clinical instructor locally along with internationally in the Dominican Republic through Creighton University. She also serves on the executive committee of the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association.

Kelly D. Kinsey PT, MS, ATC
Mrs. Kinsey has over 18 years of outpatient orthopedic experience with an emphasis on sports medicine. She is currently working as a physical therapist and athletic trainer for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Westlake, Ohio. She is recognized as one of their Clinical Specialists in Sports Health and lectures locally and nationally for the Cleveland Clinic on various topics including Functional Rehabilitation, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Shoulder Rehabilitation. Kelly is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and is the Director of Education for Sports Health. She received a BS in Athletic Training and a BS in Exercise Science from Miami University. Later, she received her MS in Physical Therapy from The Krannert Graduate School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis.

Nelson Marquez PT, EdD, MS
Dr. Nelson Marquez is a Program Director and Professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Florida. He received his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Education from Nova Southeastern University. He has been the Program Director for Polk Community College's PTA Program since 2003. Prior to this position, he served as the program's Academic Coordinator for Clinical Education and also served as the college's Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program since the OTA program's inception in 1998. In addition to his program director responsibilities, he teaches content related to the management of neuromuscular pathology and basic foundational sciences (Anatomy and Kinesiology). Dr. Marquez has presented numerous workshops and research at the national and international levels on topics related to clinical education, neurology, and professionalism in the allied health field. He is trained in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) and is a Credentialed Trainer for the APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program.

Sally McCormack PT, MPH
Dr. McCormack is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of New England. She received her Bachelors of Science and Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of New England in Portland, Maine. She also received a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education for the Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program at UNE since 2007. In addition to her duties related to clinical education, she teaches content related to the management of musculoskeletal pathology and practice management. She has been working in the outpatient setting for the past 15 years with a strong clinical focus in orthopedics, industrial rehabilitation, and ergonomics. Ms. McCormack volunteers as a teacher in developing countries with Health Volunteers Overseas. She is also an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor.

Gabriel Redmond MPT, CSCS
Mr. Redmond received his Masters in Physical Therapy degree from the University of New England. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Mr. Redmond is currently the Coordinator of Clinical Education and Assistant Director of Physical Therapy for the South Portland Clinic of Saco Bay Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy. He has taken many continuing education courses regarding the Norwegian Approach to evaluation and treatment of the spine and extremities. He also works part time as a personal trainer and consultant at The Body Architect in Portland, Maine.

Michael E. Smith PT, MS, ATC
Mr. Smith has been working as a physical therapist in an outpatient, orthopedic and sports medicine setting for the last thirteen years. He has contributed both as a staff physical therapist and as a director. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Simmons College and has taken numerous postgraduate courses in manual therapy at St. Augustine University. In addition to earning his MSPT, he is also a licensed Athletic Trainer.

Ryan Smith PT, BS
Mr. Smith received his B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1997 from the University of New England. Since then his education and clinical experience has been focused around outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Mr. Smith is currently employed as the Director of the Sports Clinic at York, a division of Saco Bay Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy in York, Maine. He is an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor, and has been accepted to the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy for their 2008 session, where he will be enrolled in a two-year residency program.

Casey Unverzagt, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS
Dr. Casey Unverzagt is the director of the Slippery Rock office of Wise Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in Western Pennsylvania. His practice revolves mostly around post-surgical orthopedics and young athletes. He received a Bachelors of Science from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He is currently working towards his Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy (DScPT) at Andrews University in Michigan in orthopedic and manual physical therapy. Dr. Unverzagt completed a post-graduate sports residency at Skyline Hospital Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in White Salmon, Washington after which he became a board certified sports physical therapy specialist. He currently teaches for the APTA’s Sports Section, and is a faculty member for Evidence in Motion’s sports physical therapy residency. Dr. Unverzagt is also a site-reviewer for the APTA’s residency and fellowship accreditation committee.

Ellen Wetherbee PT, DPT, MEd, OCS
Dr. Wetherbee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Hartford. She received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis and her Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from Simmons College. Dr. Wetherbee also received a Masters in Education from the University of Hartford and is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She has been an Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education for the Masters in Physical Therapy Program at the University of Hartford since 1996. In addition to her duties related to clinical education, she teaches content related to the management of musculoskeletal pathology. Dr. Wetherbee has authored articles and presented research at the national level on topics related to clinical education and orthopedics. She is an active member of the New England Consortium of Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education and is a Credentialed Trainer for the APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program.
